Return to Appointment System for American Citizen Services
Return to Appointment System for American Citizen Services
March 23, 2011
The American Citizens’ Services (ACS) section of the Embassy would like to alert U.S. citizens that as of April 1, 2011 it will return to its previously established appointment system so it can continue to provide fast and efficient service to all clients. The ACS unit will no longer accept walk-ins, with the exception of emergency cases. U.S. citizens must make an appointment using the following link for passport services, requests for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, notary services, requests for additional visa pages, and any other non-emergency service.
To schedule an appointment online, please access the following link: https://evisaforms.state.gov/acs/default.asp?postcode=CRO&appcode=1
The Embassy is still suspending, until further notice, its regular visits to the American Center in Alexandria and to the Cairo American College in Maadi.
American citizens are advised to maintain valid travel documents and register with the Department of State or the U.S. Embassy Cairo through the State Department travel registration website, http://travel.state.gov/step. For further information, U.S. citizens may call the Embassy’s American Citizen Services Unit at 2797-2301 during business hours, Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. For emergencies after business hours or on weekends and holidays, U.S. citizens can contact the Embassy Duty Officer via the Embassy switchboard on 2797-3300
