U.S. Boosts Egyptian Poultry Industry at International Poultry Expo

One of the largest delegations of Egyptian businesses to ever visit the United States via the U.S. Government’s International Buyer Program (IBP) is currently participating in the annual International Poultry Expo (IPE) in Atlanta, Georgia. 

“We are thrilled that so many impressive Egyptian companies are participating in the IPE this year,” said the U.S. Commercial Counselor in Cairo, Ann Bacher.  “We hope that the Expo leads to increased trade between Egypt and the United States.”

The 73-member strong Egyptian delegation represents leading Egyptian poultry and beef producers, agribusinesses, and importers of feed, agricultural equipment and vaccines.  The 40Egyptian businesses represented in the delegation are headquartered in Cairo and 8 other Egyptian cities of the Nile delta fertile agricultural region in Northern Egypt (Lower Egypt).

The IPE has brought together over 1,000 exhibitors and approximately 25,000 attendees in Atlanta from January 29-31, 2013.  The IBP is a joint government-industry effort that brings thousands of international buyers to the United States for business-to-business matchmaking with U.S. firms exhibiting at major industry trade shows.
