U.S. Ambassador Greets Egyptian Voters at Polling Stations in Sharkia

Cairo – May 23, 2012 - U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne W. Patterson visited polling stations in Sharkia governorate today to greet Egyptian voters as they cast their ballots to select their next president in a historic first democratic presidential election in Egypt.  

Ambassador Patterson expressed her pleasure at the long lines of voters patiently waiting to make their voices heard.   “We've talked to some voters and they are all very happy to be participating," she remarked.
