DCM Stuart Jones and Public Affairs Counselor Haynes Mahoney hosted the American Center Alexandria reception held in celebration of the U.S. “Flag Day” on June 15, 08, at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The governor of Alexandria, General Adel Labeeb, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Hassan Nadeer, General Ezzat Shaaban Secretary General of the governorate, President of the Judges Club in Alexandria, members of the Diplomatic Corps of Alexandria and other high officials in the governorate in addition to Religious, Academic, Judicial and business figures, were among the prominent guests that attended the reception. In addressing the guests, the DCM extended a warm welcome to everyone and explained the origin of the Flag Day saying that a group of individuals met 320 years ago, when the Egyptian Civilization was 6800 years old, to put the basis for a new nation which depended on “Peace loving and Justice”. He also stressed on the strong relations between the two nations, the American and the Egyptian.
