The Information Resource Center (IRC) is closed from March 31, 2013 through the beginning of May 2013 for renovations.
The IRC will continue to have programs and events at American Corner Maadi and Cairo University. We will announce all of our events via email and the U.S. Embassy Cairo Facebook Page, http://www.facebook.com/USEmbassyCairo.
Temporary book circulation policy: All IRC books will be due on Monday, May 13, 2013. If you wish to return your books earlier, please give them to the Embassy security staff at the West Gate.
You can still reach us by email (IRCCairo@state.gov) and by telephone (2797-3133) during this time.
Join us in May for a new look, with new furniture, new equipment and new resources! Keep an eye out for an announcement of our Grand Opening.

The Information Resource Center is part of the Public Affairs Section and is the U.S. Embassy’s public library and program center.

Comics Empowering Women

To celebrate Women’s History Month, the Information Resource Center (IRC), U.S. Embassy Cairo, publishes this comic on Women’s empowerment.
Throughout February and March 2013, Egyptian comic artist Mohamed Wahba, led a workshop on drawing comics at the IRC.
This special edition compiles the results of the workshop (stories and drawings) from eight promising young artists.
